Recipes with Cherry Syrup

  • Ingredients:

    • 2 cups fresh or frozen (thawed) cherries, pitted and halved

    • 4 cups day-old bread, cubed

    • 4 large eggs

    • 1½ cups milk

    • ½ cup granulated sugar

    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    • ½ teaspoon almond extract

    • ¼ teaspoon salt

    • Cherry or maple syrup, for serving

    Instructions:

    1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x9-inch baking dish.

    2. In a bowl, whisk eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, almond extract, and salt.

    3. Layer half the bread cubes in the dish, top with half the cherries, and pour over half the egg mixture.

    4. Repeat with remaining ingredients and press down gently.

    5. Let sit 10–15 minutes to soak.

    6. Bake 35–40 minutes, until golden and set.

    7. Cool slightly, dust with powdered sugar if desired, and serve warm.

    Serving Suggestion:
    Top with crushed almonds or a drizzle of syrup. Add lemon zest for a bright twist.

    Ingredients:

    • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs

    • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts

    • ⅓ cup cherry syrup or glaze

    • ¼ cup balsamic vinegar

    • 3 cloves garlic, smashed and roughly chopped

    • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

    • 2 bell peppers, chopped

    • 1 sweet onion, sliced

    • Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

    Instructions:

    1. In a small bowl, mix cherry syrup, soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, and garlic. Let marinate 10 minutes.

    2. Season chicken with salt and pepper; place in crock pot.

    3. Pour marinade over chicken.

    4. Add peppers and onions on top.

    5. Cover and cook on high for 3 hours, until tender.

    6. Shred chicken and mix with sauce before serving.

    Serving Ideas:

    • Serve over rice or in corn tortillas for tacos.

    • Garnish with avocado, sour cream, or fresh herbs.
